When did you discover your calling?
I had been working with Sister Scarlett Billows and Sister DeManda Refund on the Sonoma County Pride Committee and there was a Pride-A-Rama event at the Sonoma Nesting Company on April 24, 2010. I was fascinated (as most are) by Sister Sparkle Plenty’s fabulous makeup and talked to her and Sister Saviour Applause for a few minutes about being sisters and the makeup. (That part scared me the most.) I also decided that after the event I was going to hang with the sisters. So I tagged along with Nv Sister Maya Magination, Sister Coppah Feel and Sister Dawna Matrix. Many people came up to them throughout the evening asking about what it takes to become a sister. I mostly just listened to their interactions with the public and knew that this was something I wanted to do. I declared my Aspirancy the very next chance I could.
Big Sisters/Mother in the order?
Even though you only need to have two Big Sisters…I required four… They are Sister Coppah Feel, Sister Dawna Matrix, Sister Sara Femme, and Sister Saviour Applause. After sleepless nights a plenty…. My Mother is Sister Saviour Applause.
Why did you join?
I have been searching for an extended family all of my adult life, and when I joined the order, I knew I had found a group of fantastic people that are my family!
Religious beliefs (if any)?
I consider myself to be a spiritual being.
Goals and aspirations?
To minister and be of service to my community as best I can. To start a recreational program for youth in the Russian River Area. And to encourage young pregnant women that there IS another option… Adoption. I placed my son for adoption at birth when I was 18 years old. It was the toughest decision I’ve ever made, but also the best decision I’ve ever made.
