Painted Nuns Bake for the Church
With a
Sidewalk Bake Sale
August 9, 2003 --Guerneville,
CA. The Russian River Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence are pleased to
announce the "Painted Nuns Bake for the Church" sidewalk bake sale. "100% of the
proceeds of this bake sale will benefit the Catholic Charities Family Support
Center" said Sister Carmelita Cheesecake, a member of the Russian River Sisters
of Perpetual Indulgence. "We have 14 people busy baking their favorite cookies,
cakes and breads" Sister Carmelita continued "so, please come buy some wonderful
desserts and support a very worthy cause!"
The Catholic Charities Family Support Center is a multi-service shelter for
children and their families serving 130 people daily. It is the largest homeless
families shelter between the Golden Gate Bridge and the Oregon border. They
provide shelter for up to 90 days with 3 meals and 2 snacks per day. The Center
has a variety of programs on-site to support the families with child care,
health screenings, job mentoring/advocacy, and housing counseling/advocacy to
obtain more stable housing. The Center is located in Santa Rosa, CA
